- Candidates need to get IAS cut off marks to pass this round.
- Cut off is decided on the basis of total vacancies, papers for the exam & difficulty level of the candidates.

UPSC IAS 2020-21 exam
In a recent notification by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission), for the IAS recruitment of 796 vacancies, the governing body of the UPSC CSE (Civil Services Examination) announced the dates for its Civil Services (Main) Examination. Civil Services 2020 Preliminary Examination will be held on 04 October 2020 & UPSC IAS Mains will be held on 08 January 2021. This exam is the second stage in the entire UPSC Civil Services Examination.
UPSC CSE is a national level examination for the recruitment of candidates in various civil services of the Government of India, including (IAS) Indian Administrative Service,(IFS) Indian Foreign Service,(IPS) Indian Police Service & (IRS)Indian Revenue Service. The exam is popularly known as IAS Examination but is officially known as UPSC Civil Services Examination. The civil service is considered one of the most competitive and difficult exams to crack in India.
